Art is a parent-led creative program at Community School that brings hands-on artistic expression directly to our students. These sessions give our students a wonderful opportunity to explore different mediums, learn new techniques, and express themselves creatively outside of their standard academics.
To keep this program vibrant and running smoothly, we rely on parent volunteers to lead and assist with the classes. You don't need to be a professional artist—all you need is a little enthusiasm and a willingness to help our kids create their own masterpieces. Every volunteer makes a huge difference in fostering our students' creativity. Please sign up to volunteer by following the link above.
STEAM brings science, technology, engineering, art, and math to life through hands-on activities that encourage students to explore, create, experiment, and problem-solve.
This parent-led program depends on volunteers to help organize, lead, and support activities. You don't need to be a scientist or engineer to participate. All you need is enthusiasm and a willingness to help our students discover something new!
This year's adventure is Mission: Terra Nova! Each month, students will use STEAM activities to explore a new world, take on new challenges, and complete a new mission. To make each mission a success, we need parent volunteers in every classroom.
Parent Lead: Lead your classroom's mission, coordinating with Aditya and Laura as needed.
Classroom Volunteers: Join the space crew and help students successfully complete their mission.

Let's show our wonderful teachers and staff some extra appreciation throughout the school year! If you would like to participate, please sign up to bring something special of your choosing. Some ideas could include: flowers, favorite Starbucks drinks, bakery treats, fun snacks or drinks for the staff lounge, lunch delivery, handwritten notes / pictures from your child, etc. It doesn't have to be elaborate or expensive to make an impact.
Please include enough for at least our 5 regular downstairs staff (Veronique, Marissa, Maddie, Deb, and Jean). If you want to include Jacob or specialists, you may! This is outside of our normal staff appreciation week and budget, so this would be at your own expense and is completely optional. Feel free to sign up with another family if you'd like to pool resources.

Childcare will be provided by Community School alumni in one of the classrooms. If you need childcare, please make sure to sign up at least 2 days in advance. The cost is $10 per child (cash preferred).
Please note: Cancellations are not allowed the day before, as we want to avoid last-minute cancellations and ensure we have enough childcare coverage.

Fall Camp is a Community School annual tradition — along with our Spring Camp — and it’s one of the highlights of the year for our kids. These camps give students a chance to bond outside the classroom, welcome new kiddos into our community, and build friendships that last all year long.
To make camp a success, we need about 30–35 volunteers each day. There’s a wide variety of roles to choose from: cabin leads, scavenger hunt stations, food helpers, photographers, creative activities like tie-dye, face painting, and more. Every role matters and helps our kids have a safe, fun, and memorable experience. Please sign up for at least one slot.
