4+ Weeks in Advance: You may release your spot in the schedule without notifying others.
2-4 Weeks in Advance: If your plans change, please find a replacement and inform other parents. I’ll do my best to assist as needed.
Last-Minute (within 2 Days): It’s your responsibility to find a replacement and notify other parents. Additionally, please text or call me directly at 425-614-6228 to ensure I’m aware and can step in if necessary. Since I check email only 1-2 times daily, a direct call or text is the best way to handle urgent changes.
Let's re-vamp the garden under the flagpoles, by weeding, planting bulbs and laying down mulch on Saturday, October 25th. You can also help out at the vegetable garden beds behind the lyceum. Each year, each participant, regardless of age, must complete a hold harmless agreement. Use the link to print the attachment and bring it to the event signed. Earn 2 volunteer hours.
We supply tools and supplies (gloves, shovels, rakes, wheelbarrows, bulbs, mulch, bags). You bring: suitable outdoor clothes; reusable water bottle with water; an empty bladder (we won't have bathroom access), a completed hold harmless agreement.
Fall Festival will be an exciting event filled with games, crafts, and community spirit. It’s a fantastic opportunity for us to come together, celebrate the season, and create lasting memories. We need enthusiastic volunteers to help with various activities, from setting up and decorating, leading fun-filled activities and much more. Your support makes a huge difference! Fall Festival will be held on Friday, October 31th at Community School.
We’d love your help to make our parent-led art lessons a fun, creative experience for the kids!
Each lesson will introduce kids to a new artist and art style. We will try to focus on a different medium in each class. Little hands often need extra help when it comes to managing paints, scissors, glue, and other supplies. So having extra adults in the room makes a big difference.
If you’d like to sign up, please take a look at the volunteer slots and choose a month that works best for you. We need 6 volunteers for each class. Even if you can only help once, we’d really appreciate it!
Join our monthly Community School STEAM activity, and help us spark creativity, curiosity, and innovation in our students! This year we will have STEAM one Friday a month (except December) from 1:30-3pm, and we would like three parents to join each class during these times. You do not have to volunteer only in your child's classroom. This is a great opportunity to see how the other classes work.
Please arrive at 1:15 on STEAM days so we can have a quick parent meeting and pass out supplies. STEAM starts at 1:30 with the students.
Thank you for your interest in Parent Choice! This is the perfect place to share your skills and interests with students by leading or helping with a small group. Having a wide variety of classes is the goal. Sports/movement, crafts/art, science/engineering, life skills, music....whatever you can think of! If you have a class in mind, please sign up for the lead! If you'd rather volunteer to assist another parent-led class, please sign up for the assistant position.
Let's show our wonderful teachers and staff some extra appreciation throughout the school year! If you would like to participate, please sign up to bring something special of your choosing. Some ideas could include: flowers, favorite Starbucks drinks, bakery treats, fun snacks or drinks for the staff lounge, lunch delivery, handwritten notes / pictures from your child, etc. It doesn't have to be elaborate or expensive to make an impact.
Please include enough for at least our 5 regular downstairs staff (Veronique, Marissa, Maddie, Deb, and Jean). If you want to include Jacob or specialists, you may! This is outside of our normal staff appreciation week and budget, so this would be at your own expense and is completely optional. Feel free to sign up with another family if you'd like to pool resources.

Supply List - Items for Fall Camp
Fall Camp is a Community School annual tradition — along with our Spring Camp — and it’s one of the highlights of the year for our kids. These camps give students a chance to bond outside the classroom, welcome new kiddos into our community, and build friendships that last all year long.
To make camp a success, we need about 30–35 volunteers each day. There’s a wide variety of roles to choose from: cabin leads, scavenger hunt stations, food helpers, photographers, creative activities like tie-dye, face painting, and more. Every role matters and helps our kids have a safe, fun, and memorable experience. Please sign up for at least one slot.
